Rupert Hague-Holmes
Rupert Hague-Holmes obtained a degree in Law & Politics from the University of Durham, before qualifying, and practising, as a solicitor. He currently works for a large North American bank. He has written articles about, and given presentations on, the Battle of Arnhem 1944 and the British Army’s involvement in the Korean War. His particular interest is post-WW2 conflicts involving the British Army. He is working currently on a biography of Lt General Sir George Lea, one of the leading British post WW2 counter insurgency specialists.

Speakers Corner: The Rock of Gibraltar - A Proud Military Association with the UKFamily Ticket: 2 adults, 3 children; Child Ticket: aged 5-15; Under 5: FREE
The talk will cover stories from Gibraltar’s military association with the UK, from the capture of Gibraltar in 1704 through to the current day, including Nelson and Trafalgar, General Sikorsky’s death and Gibraltar in WW2, the use of Gibraltar during the Falklands War, and Operation FLAVIUS.Outdoor Programme Event
The Outdoor Programme daily ticket gives you access to everything on the festival's massive Outdoor Programme.
We have talks on the IPGL and History Hit Outdoor Stages, the Living History encampments and static displays, Speaker's Corner talks, performances from the History Tellers and others, live music, two bars, the Emporium, book shops and numerous cafes and food stalls. Anyone with an Outdoor Programme ticket can access up to twenty-five different scheduled events on any one day, so it is truly great value.
For those wishing to experience The Trench, Sword School and Children's Creative History events, these are ticketed separately and need to be pre-booked. Rides on the Vintage Fairground are payable at the ride.
Tickets to individual events in the Hiscox and Smith & Williamson tents also provide access to the Outdoor Programme on that particular day (1 person per ticket).
