CVHF2021 talks by Rowan Williams

12. LOOKING EAST IN WINTER: CONTEMPORARY THOUGHT AND THE EASTERN CHRISTIAN TRADITION

Rowan Williams, former Archbishop of Canterbury, will offer an original and illuminating vision of the Eastern tradition of Christianity and the lessons it may have to offer for the Western church and society. From the desert contemplatives of the fourth century to philosophers, novelists and activists of the modern era, he will show how the deep-rooted themes of Eastern Christian thought can prompt new perspectives on our contemporary crises of imagination and hope.

CVHF is supporting Salisbury Cathedral which needs your help today as it faces one of the biggest challenges of its existence. The effect of the pandemic has been  catastrophic – it stands to lose up to £2m this year. Throughout the centuries the Cathedral has been protected and sustained by the steadfast support of those who love it, at home and abroad, sustaining it through civil disruption, times of plague and two world wars. While recognising that this is a time of uncertainty and anxiety for many, if you can give a donation now you will be helping to keep this beautiful place alive for future generations – any support you can give will make a huge difference., Please click on the logo to donate now.
