History is so much more pertinent when seen through the eyes of a family member. Nick Jellicoe’s grandfather John was Commander-in-Chief of the Grand Fleet in 1916 (at the Battle of Jutland), and his father George was a warrior of a very different caste: a Special Forces commander and Cold War diplomat during and after WWII before becoming a politician.
