Speakers Corner: Custer and the Battle of the Little Bighorn

Family Ticket: 2 adults, 3 children; Child Ticket: aged 5-15; Under 5: FREE

No subject in American History, aside from Lincoln and the American Civil War, has been more discussed in books, articles or sung of than Custer and the Battle of the Little Bighorn. For a small battle relative to European standards, its rippling effects were felt far beyond 1876 and the Montana Territory – even unto today! Chaz Mena will talk about the biggest upset in U.S. military history, and perhaps the climax in the annals of the American West. This event will be held at the Storage Works Speakers Corner tent.

  2. Speakers Corner: The Cuban Revolution
    Speakers Corner: The Cuban Revolution

There were many Cuban Revolutions, many fronts led by engaged men and women, largely middle class but also stemming from the most moneyed and influential families on the island. To the detriment of Cuban history and the struggles of Latin Americans, Fidel and Ramon Castro’s July 26 Movement monopolised the face of struggle. ‘Cuba may be thin, but it’s long,’ as the saying goes, and its reach in world affairs far outweighed the size of its territory. Come, let’s dispel the myths together, as Chaz Mena relates the exciting but tragic story of la Revolución cubana! This event will be held at the Storage Works Speakers Corner tent.
