HISTORY WALK – TO THE OX DROVE

History Walks, Tue 26th June 10:00 - 13:00 (180 mins)

Renowned archaeologist Bill Moffat will be leading local historical walks throughout the Festival week, blending a stroll in a beautiful part of the world with some absolutely fascinating facts and snippets from our very rich local history, from prehistory right through to recent times.

South from the festival site, this walk will go up Church Bottom looking at the formation of the chalkland and evidence for past activity, mixed with modern history and folklore. On this walk are a grassland nature reserve, hidden parkland, ancient tracks and tombs – even that reputed to be if Gawain himself.
