Primrose Campbell will outline the turbulent life of her grandfather, the artist Henry Lamb. Raised in an academic household, he was drawn to both medicine and art. As a medical officer in WW1 he won a Military Cross but was intimate with the leading artists of his day and elected a Royal Academician in 1949. Through it all, he loved and painted the scenery of old Wessex, particularly the Chalke Valley.

This is part of our series of talks on the Chalke Valley History Heroes – look out for the others on John Aubrey, Cecil Beaton, Anthony Eden, William Golding and Terry Pratchett.
