Barnaby Rogerson has travelled across North Africa for 40 years as both a writer and guide. He will use the divergent yet fascinating lives of five men and one woman to bring the region’s past to vibrant life. The six people are: Queen Dido, founder of Carthage; the generals Hannibal, and Masinissa; the African king Juba II; Emperor Septimius Severus of Rome; and the Christian Saint Augustine.
