Salisbury and the surrounding area has a proud wartime heritage for thousands of Spitfires were built here in sheds, garages, bus depots and even a hotel. Norman Parker, one of the last surviving Spitfire engineers, will talk about the top-secret wartime construction of the RAF’s most celebrated fighter plane with Ethem Cetintas, director of the acclaimed film, The Secret Spitfires. They will be joined by Bette Blackwell, a riveter from the factory.
