102. THE SAS IN FRANCE 1944 – D-Day Sunday Talk

IPGL Tent, Sun 30th June 10:00 - 11:00 (60 mins)

Gavin Mortimer, who has written wartime histories of the SAS, SBS and LRDG, will describe the clandestine role of the SAS in the invasion of France. The regiment was in action from 6th June 1944 until early October, ambushing convoys, derailing trains and gathering intelligence. What the SAS accomplished was impressive but their achievements came at a high price with the deaths of dozens of their soldiers.
