The Duchess of Cornwall's Reading Room is a hub for literary communities around the world which celebrates literature in all its forms.

We are greatly honoured that this will be the first collaboration with a festival and that this event, with an introduction from HRH The Duchess of Cornwall herself, will open the 2022 Daily Mail Chalke Valley History Festival.

We are delighted to welcome Philippa Gregory, one of the world’s foremost historical novelists, for the first time and that distinguished historian and author Alison Weir is returning to the festival. This will be a fascinating discussion about rediscovering women in history between two best-selling writers and recognised authorities on the subject.
